MEDILAX-N Microenemas
MEDILAX-N Microenemas is a medical device specially designed to help manage the symptoms of constipation, fecal impaction and tenesmus. The product contains sodium citrate and sodium lauroyl sarcosinate as the main ingredients. Sodium citrate acts as an osmotic laxative, increasing the amount of water within the colon, binding fluid from the rest of the body to the intestine, or by retaining the fluid of the microenema itself within the stool.
Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate acts as an anionic surfactant, which provides stool humidification and improves water penetration, thereby helping to soften stools.
In addition, the product contains agents with soothing properties that relieve irritated intestinal lumen and is specially designed for immediate relief of symptoms of functional or acute constipation and tenesmus. The contents of the product are excreted unchanged, without being absorbed by the large intestine.
Overall, the composition of MEDILAX-N Microenemas helps to soften the stool, increasing its volume and inducing normal bowel contraction. The result is immediate emptying of the colon in less than half an hour.

Box of 6 disposable devices with anal solution (microenemas) of 5 mL each.
MEDILAX-N Microenemas is indicated for the management of symptoms of constipation, fecal impaction and tenesmus.
MEDILAX-N Microenemas is suitable for children and adults with symptoms on indication.
For use in children under 2 years of age, prior examination and consultation by a doctor is required.
DOSAGE - INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
DOSAGE
• Children over 2 years old and adults
1 microenema per day, for 1-3 days, according to the advice of a doctor.
• Children under 2 years old: Administration, according to the doctor's instructions.
Consult the section "INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE" for special conditions of administration.
Hold the microenema with both hands, rotate the lid and pull to break its protective fuse. Remove the cap and insert the recommended – according to the age range – length of the nozzle carefully into the rectum. Press the microenema so that its internal contents empty into the intestine and remove the nozzle while keeping the microenema constantly pressed.
For use in children over 2 years and adults: When applying, enter the full length of the nozzle of the microenema.
For use in children under 2 years of age: When applying, enter only half the length of the nozzle of the microenema.
MEDILAX-N Microenemas usually works within 5 to 30 minutes, so make sure you have access to a toilet before application.
Do not use this product in newborns.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
• For rectal use only. Do not swallow.
• Insert the nozzle gently to avoid damage to the rectal mucosa.
• Each microenema is for single use only. Do not store or store part or all of the microenema for later use after opening the vial.
• Consult your doctor in case of concomitant use of drugs that affect gastrointestinal motility.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
-Do not use the product in the presence of any of the following conditions:
- Known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients,
- Papillomas, stretch marks, hemorrhoids, anal fissures,
- Active gastrointestinal blood loss or anorectal bleeding,
- Acute anal or rectal diseases, unless advised otherwise by a physician- Inflammatory bowel disease.
